The 20-0 Ukrainian has not fought since beating Anthony Joshua in back-to-back bouts and will now aim to retain his belts for the second time.

‘DDD’ currently holds the WBA ‘regular’ heavyweight title and set himself up for this huge clash by beating Kevin Lerena last time out despite being knocked down three times himself.

This will be the 25-year-old’s first-ever world title fight and he will be hoping to upset the odds against one of the best in the business.

Usyk vs Dubois: What has been said?

Usyk: “I am very glad that we have the opportunity to organise my fight in Poland, where I won my first world title seven years ago.

“I want to thank the Polish people who are helping Ukraine so sincerely. Hundreds of thousands of my compatriots have been hosted by this wonderful country.

“Therefore, I hope that my fight will become one more opportunity for Ukrainians and people of Poland to unite and strengthen our friendship.”

But Usyk is already looking ahead to his next opponent and has called on Fury to agree to a potentially career-defining night.

He said: “As a human being, I think he is a great person. I think he’s a great man, a great father, a great family man, and as an athlete, he’s brilliant as well.

“The only thing I can say is that there’s too much words, instead of actions. The whole world wants to see the fight between Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury and we have to make it. People are tired of talks. We need to do instead of talk.”

“I’m going to shock the world and show people how good Daniel Dubois really is.”
