Burton vs Leicester odds

Leicester City are the odds-on favourites to win away from home against League One opposition Burton in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

Burton vs Leicester predictions

Burton were out at 50/1 to win the league before the season started and are among the outsiders for promotion too, so they will need a big performance against the Championship behemoths that are looking to climb back up to the Premier League.

Leicester City have retained a few players that are still Premier League level and of those a fair few of them look like staying to help them get back to the top flight.

This will be a different game as they will probably look to rest a few players but with their depth they should still find this game comfortable against a League One side that look like struggling this year.

Burton lost their opening game to Blackpool 2-0 on Saturday and they didn’t have a fruitful pre-season either, and this should be a tough ask.

Burton vs Leicester betting tips

Leicester City over 3.5 goals – 5/4

Leicester came back from 1-0 down to beat Coventry 2-1 with two late goals from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

That game saw 40 shots with 13 finding the target, equally split between the two sides, despite Leicester dominating the possession.

That said, Leicester looked the stronger side in the second half while Coventry were always dangerous on the counter and posed a real threat.

Leicester won’t have to deal with that as much against Burton but if their defence isn’t assured from last time out they could have a problem in a game where the opposition should never be underestimated.

City have a plethora of dangerous attacking players and the goals from Dewsbury-Hall were among the many chances spread out across all the players, who will likely find the target in this clash.

Patson Daka to score – 6/4

Daka was rested on Saturday as there were a few options ahead of him in what they were going for to make a comeback.

Kelechi Iheanacho replaced Jamie Vardy against Coventry and that opens the door for the talented striker to make his first appearance for the club this season.

The Zambian has scored nine Premier League goals for City and another five in the Europa League – if he replicates his form against Burton he will not have an issue finding the back of the net.
