Brentford vs Tottenham predictions

Brentford are without their star striker Ivan Toney up front for them but Tottenham also could be with Harry Kane potentially leaving for Bayern Munich.

The transfer move has been in the pipeline for a while but it could come to a head before the first game of the season which would be a tough spot for Tottenham to be in.

Spurs ended up finishing just a point above Brentford in 8th place last season and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see this be a much tighter game than the odds may suggest.

Brentford vs Tottenham betting tips

Mbeumo to score – 2/1

Bryan Mbeumo will be up top for the Bees likely on the wing or as a striker pair with Yoane Wissa, but the front line is likely to be swapped around to see what works as they explore options without Toney.

Pre-season was a good example of potential lineups with their defence somewhat unchanged from last year but the midfield and attacking line up can be swapped around dependant on their opponents.

Against Spurs, they may opt for a similar formation they tried against Fulham in pre-season with Mbeumo in the right of midfield in a four and Wissa up front.

The two showed during pre-season they will probably be in the starting lineup more often and provide real goal threats.

Tottenham have a plethora of players who could step up, but just didn’t find their stride in the 2022/23 campaign.

Kane remains a firm favourite to score as things stand, but Mbeumo, Richarlison and Wissa are up there as likely contenders in what could be an end-to-end game.
