31 Funny and Adorable Peanuts Memes

Peanuts, you say? Do you mean the food that a specific population of people is highly allergic to?

Yes, those are peanuts, but we are talking about another kind of Peanuts. Also known as one of the longest comics ever to run in newspapers ( from October 2, 1950 until February 13, 2000 ), Peanuts has captured the world with its charming characters and clever storylines.

To really appreciate Peanuts, we have to get to know its creator: Charles M. Schulz. Hailing from Minneapolis, Minnesota in the United States, Schulz loved drawing from an early age. He often drew their family dog, Spike, who usually ate weird objects.

Charles Schulz’s first-ever comic strip was titled Li’l Folks and published in June 1947. It was in this comic that he first used the name Charlie Brown for a character. There was also a dog that resembled Snoopy in the comic strip.

Three years later, Schulz brought Peanuts to life. His famous comic premiered in newspapers on October 2, 1950. It was a four-panel daily strip that appeared in the paper from Mondays through Saturdays. The first characters to appear were the now-famous Charlie Brown, Shermy, and Patty. It was amazing indeed that Charles M. Schulz created all aspects of the Peanuts comics on his own, from the script to the art and even the lettering.

Peanuts

You probably know Peanuts for giving us beloved characters like Charlie Brown and Snoopy. It was popular not only for comic strips but also for its television specials. There have been a total of 45 television specials made for Peanuts, including A Charlie Brown Christmas and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. There is no doubt that many people grew up watching these specials as children during the holiday season!
